Meet our teachers.....

Mrs Lorraine Brown

I teach Class 2 and am the Early Years Lead. I am passionate about giving the children the very best start to their school life and education, creating a nurturing, engaging environment where they feel confident, curious, and ready to learn.

Outside of school, I enjoy spending time in the garden, going for walks, and relaxing with a good book – especially anything written by Agatha Christie.

Mr Elias Cunningham

My first experience of Crosscrake was spending a placement here as a trainee teacher. When I qualified, I had the fantastic opportunity to return as a class teacher, and I’ve been here ever since.

My favourite thing about Crosscrake is seeing children across the school learning and growing together. It’s a pleasure getting to know each and every one of them. I enjoy teaching a wide range of subjects and supporting children to discover and develop new skills, interests and passions. Some of my favourite subjects are History, Maths and Music.

Outside school, I like playing music, walking and reading. My favourite genres are probably fantasy and adventure stories, as well as historical non-fiction.

Mrs Michelle Robinson

Children constantly amaze me with their curiosity and how quickly they absorb new ideas. I feel privileged to be part of their learning journey.

I have always had a keen interest in nature, and run farming and wildlife educational visits at our farm, which engage children with the natural world. I encourage them to look around and notice the little things, which can often be the most fascinating.

In my spare time, I enjoy painting and crafting, whilst listening  to audiobooks about science, history and nature.

Mrs Katy Carr

I have been teaching for many years and I am passionate about helping children reach their potential and grow as individuals.

In my spare time I enjoy being with my family.  I like to relax with a good book; get outside in the fresh air: walking, cycling, gardening and wild swimming.

I love the hills, lakes and the sea and plan holidays with this in mind.

Meet our Teaching Assistants.....

Mrs Vicky Birks

After gaining my qualification at Kendal College I spent 2 years nannying in America for a lovely family who I am still in touch with today!

On my return to my hometown of Kendal, I spent several years in private day nurseries working with 0-5 year olds and I also nannied for a couple of local families before having 2 girls of my own. I then got some temporary hours at Crosscrake which built up into full time and I am still here today!

Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my husband and family exploring all around, mostly in the UK.

Mrs Paula Goodyear

I live with my three daughters and four dogs.  I enjoy walking but my favourite thing to do is swimming; both in the pool and open water.  I will be taking part in the 'Great North Swim' this year for charity.

My favourite thing about school is that everyone knows each other from two year olds in Nursery right up to children in Year Six.  I like to read books; mainly thriller and mystery.

Mrs Charlotte Woof

Miss Lindsey Bonson

I love being able to get out and about and explore our lovely countryside with my little boy and four-legged friend Ezra. I like to be busy in my garden and enjoy the sunshine (when we have it of course...)

If I'm having a day at home I like to get into a project, play a boardgame, read a good book or enjoy a fun film night.

Miss Sue Ward

My favourite thing about school is teaching phonics.  I also like seeing the children play across the age groups at lunchtimes especially when the oldest children look after and play with the new reception children at the start of the academic year.

My interests and hobbies are walking in the Lake District, reading and spending time with my family.

My favourite thing to read is a good crime novel.
